Ketul J. Patel

Ketul Patel is Chief Executive Officer of CHI Franciscan Health and Senior Vice President of Divisional Operations for the Pacific Northwest Region of Catholic Health Initiatives. The Pacific Northwest Division encompasses health care locations throughout Washington and Oregon States. CHI Franciscan Health, headquartered in Tacoma, Washington, includes eight full-service hospitals, a regional network of more than 900 primary and specialty care providers as well as more than 12,000 employees. Since joining CHI Franciscan, Mr. Patel has pioneered numerous joint ventures and innovative partnerships with leading health care providers and services including the largest urgent care provider in the New York metro-area, CityMD, and nationally recognized Seattle-based Virginia Mason Health System.

Mr. Patel’s leadership experience involves more than 20 years of progressive administrative management at several large health systems throughout the United States. Prior to joining CHI Franciscan, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief of Strategy as well as Chief Operations Officer of Hackensack University Health Network and Hackensack University Medical Center located in northern New Jersey. He served as Vice President of Operations for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Magee-Women’s Hospital; Senior Vice President of Franciscan Health Alliance St. James Health in Chicago; and Vice President for Strategic Planning and Business Development of Sharp HealthCare in San Diego.

Mr. Patel holds master’s degrees in health administration and business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, and a bachelor’s degree from The John Hopkins University. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Additionally, Mr. Patel is recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s Minority Executives to Watch.
