For patients unable to pay the full cost of care
Paying for emergency or medically necessary care can be difficult for patients who lack health insurance or have inadequate coverage. As part of our community commitment, CHI is helping patients address their financial needs in a way that is fair and sensitive to their circumstances.
The program
The CommonSpirit Health Financial Assistance Policy (available in multiple languages) applies to uninsured/underinsured patients who come to our facilities for treatment. This policy provides financial relief to those who qualify based on a comparison of their financial resources and/or income to Federal Poverty Guidelines.
The program is designed specifically for emergent/urgent and/or medically necessary patients whose financial resources and/or income are at or below 400 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
To qualify, these patients will be asked to complete a CHI Financial Assistance Application.
We are committed to working with our patients to establish an appropriate payment plan based on the amount due and the patient’s financial status. For more information, please visit our facility websites.
