Throughout CHI, spiritual care teams are ready to provide comfort, compassion, and hand-on help in many situations. A recent story in Catholic Health World looks at how spiritual care teams rise to the occasion during natural and man-made disasters: and, the first example is the spiritual care team at CHI St. Luke’s Health-Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Houston, TX. Two leading U.S. health systems – Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health – who announced a Definitive Agreement to combine their health ministries in December 2017, have chosen “CommonSpirit Health” as the name of their new organization. The two systems expect to complete the transaction by the end of 2018.
