Kindergarten students get familiar with the emergency department at CHI Health Good Samaritan, Kearney, NE

For the 46th consecutive year, CHI Health Good Samaritan, Kearney, NE, hosted Kindergarten Days at the hospital. On April 23-26, more than 650 kindergarten students toured Good Samaritan to become more comfortable with hospitals and health care providers.

While at Good Samaritan, the kindergarteners learned about what happens during a typical hospital stay. They watched a video featuring Sam the Moose, explored a real hospital room, enjoyed a pet therapy visit, and took a tour of the emergency and radiology departments. Most importantly, students and teachers had a chance to ask lots of questions.

CommonSpirit Health today announced the opening of its Reference Lab, which will more than triple current COVID-19 testing for the nonprofit’s 137 hospitals and 1000+ care sites. Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, CommonSpirit’s Lab will alone increase the country’s COVID-19 test capacity by 70,000 tests per week.
