CHI St. Francis Health Staff Provides Blankets for Hospice Comfort
The contribution of more than 35 blankets from staff of CHI St. Francis Health is helping to maintain a tradition at CHI Health at Home-Hospice in Breckenridge, MN. Each person admitted to hospice care receives a handmade fleece comfort blanket that their family, in turn, gets to keep.
During National Hospital and Nursing Home Week in May, the CHI St. Francis Health staff contributed material for 35 blankets, as well the time needed to make them. Because CHI Health at Home-Hospice provide cares to about 100 people during the course of a year, lots of blankets are needed to continue the tradition. The family members of hospice patients often comment on how comforted they are by the blankets they receive after a loved one has passed away.
