Taking care of your health and well-being

We work with an extensive network of doctors, hospitals and pharmacies across the country to ensure comprehensive medical and prescription drug coverage is readily available to you. Even better, if you use our CHI facilities, you receive an enhanced benefit. You can choose a plan that’s right for you and your family, including a traditional PPO plan and a high deductible health plan with a health savings account.

You can choose from comprehensive dental plan options. All our dental plans options provide coverage for preventive, basic, major and orthodontia care for children and adults.

We offer a vision plan that covers eye exams, lenses, frames and contact lenses.

Making the most of your money is important. To help you save for eligible health care and dependent care expenses, we offer a variety of spending accounts. Your options include a health care flexible spending account (FSA), a dependent care FSA, a health incentive account and a health savings account (HSA). You can set aside before-tax dollars to help pay for eligible expenses and when you take part in the wellness program, you can earn incentive dollars for making healthy choices.

We provide the following additional insurance coverage at no cost to you to help protect your family if the unforeseen happens.

  • Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance

We offer two plans to help you save for retirement.

  • CHI 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan — Save for retirement with before-tax or Roth after-tax contributions. We help grow your account with matching contributions and an annual employer contribution at year-end, if eligible.
  • CHI 457(b) Plan — If eligible, you can make additional salary deferrals to this non-qualified deferred compensation plan.

Your health is about more than routine trips to your doctor — it’s also about the small everyday choices you make. We create an environment that supports your health and well-being through our wellness program. It’s a voluntary program free for all employees and spouses enrolled in the CHI medical plan. The program offers wellness challenges, webinars and lifestyle coaching to help you achieve your personal health goals. You can also earn incentive dollars when you participate in certain activities.

Professional development through degree advancement is an important part of the CHI culture and key to our ongoing pursuit of clinical excellence and leadership development. We make it affordable and convenient for CHI employees to advance their education by offering a tuition reimbursement program and partnering with over 100 leading universities to offer tuition discounts.

In calendar year 2016, CHI spent $5.4M on tuition reimbursement for over 1,500 employees.
