Members of the Northern Kentucky office staff readied 50 backpacks with school supplies for local children from homeless and at-risk families.

Hundreds of children have returned to their classrooms with new school supplies, thanks to the generosity of the staff of Catholic Health Initiatives’ national offices in Northern Kentucky and Denver, Colo.

The Northern Kentucky staff delivered 50 backpacks filled with school supplies to Welcome House in Covington, Ky., a facility that provides services for homeless and at-risk individuals and families. Staff members donated more than $1,000 to fill the backpacks with help from local Walgreens and Wal-Mart stores, which provided deep discounts on school supplies.

As part of an ongoing relationship with Annunciation School, the Denver office provided 180 children with some of the necessities of grade school life, including crayons, markers, glue sticks, scissors, notebooks, pocket folders and pencil boxes donated by Denver staff members.
