Sponsorship of Our Lady of Fatima Villa to Return to Congregation
The Board of Stewardship Trustees of Catholic Health Initiatives has approved the return of sponsorship of Our Lady of Fatima Villa, Saratoga, Calif., to its original sponsor, the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena of Kenosha, Wis.
Our Lady of Fatima Villa is a long-term care facility that is Catholic Health Initiatives’ only market-based organization in California. "In making this decision, the Board of Stewardship Trustees was guided by the unique circumstances of Our Lady of Fatima Villa’s history within our organization," said Patricia A. Cahill, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health Initiatives. "When Catholic Health Initiatives was formed in 1996, Catholic Health Corporation was actively seeking a local or regional sponsor to strengthen the future viability of Our Lady of Fatima Villa. Catholic Health Initiatives accepted the governance and sponsorship of Our Lady of Fatima Villa with the expectation that such a sponsor would soon be identified. However, our continued efforts to identify another sponsor have not been successful, and the Kenosha Dominicans expressed strong interest in the return of the property and facility to the congregation."
Catholic Health Initiatives expects to complete the transition of sponsorship later this year.
