CARITAS to sell office building, fitness club

CARITAS Health Services, Louisville, Ky., has announced that it will sell its CARITAS Health Fitness Club and an office building. "The sale reflects our strategic decision to focus our energy and resources on core operations and the delivery of quality health care through our flagship entities – CARITAS Medical Center, CARITAS Peace Center and CARITAS Home Health," said Bruce Hopkins, chief executive officer of CARITAS Health Services. The fitness club will be purchased by Club Management Group of Louisville, which will continue to offer tennis, swimming and fitness programs at the 72,000-square-foot facility. The office building, which previously housed the Louisville office of Catholic Health Initiatives, will be purchased by Bellarmine University, which owns land adjacent to the building. The Louisville office staff has relocated to other Catholic Health Initiatives national offices.
