Saint Elizabeth in Lincoln announces major expansion and renovation project

Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, Lincoln, Neb., has announced plans for a $110 million expansion project that will include construction of a new patient tower, medical office building and multilevel parking garage as well as remodeling of existing medical center space. "This expansion is necessary so we will be prepared to accommodate the increased number of patients who are projected to seek care at our medical center during the next decades," said Robert Lanik, president of Saint Elizabeth Health System. Lanik said that population growth within Saint Elizabeth’s service area and the aging of the population is driving increased demand for patient services. Construction will begin this year, with the medical office and parking garage scheduled to be completed in 2002 and the new patient tower to be completed in 2004.
