Direct Community Investment Approved, Applications Available

Catholic Health Initiatives has approved a direct community investment of $300,000 for Impact Seven, Inc., a community development corporation that engages in economic development, property management, health programming and other socio-economic activities in the state of Wisconsin. While Catholic Health Initiatives has now committed a total of $15.2 million in loans to community-based organizations, the goal of the Direct Community Investment program is to lend about $38 million to organizations that promote access to jobs, housing, education and health care for low-income and minority populations.

Although market-based organizations cannot apply for direct community investments, local or international projects and organizations in which they are involved may qualify. Market-based organization leaders are encouraged to share information within their communities and invite applications.
