Richard H. Young Hospital, Kearney, Neb., is an 80-bed psychiatric hospital. Named for its founder, Richard H. Young, MD, was a distinguished psychiatrist and an early practitioner of holistic care. As part of Good Samaritan Health Systems, the hospital provides behavioral health care services that focus on each individual’s biological, psychological and social needs. Richard H. Young Hospital offers specialized programs for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment modalities include group, family and individual psychotherapy, patient and family education, therapeutic recreation, psychopharmacology and electroconvulsive therapy. The Residential Treatment Center serves teens with emotional and behavioral problems.
