Inspiring stories from the women and men who further the healing ministry through Catholic Health Initiatives have been collected in a new book called Sacred Stories. The stories, which were written by Catholic Health Initiatives’ staff members at market-based organizations and national offices, tell of their most memorable moments of lived spirituality at work.

Sacred Stories is a sequel to Charisms, a collection of stories about the founders and foundresses of Catholic Health Initiatives’ sponsoring congregations. "Sacred Stories continues that inspiring history into the present, portraying for us the soul of those who carry on the healing ministry," said Jerry Broccolo, vice president of spirituality for Catholic Health Initiatives. "The stories provide a glimpse into how our employees find meaning in what they do, where they experience the action of the Spirit in their work lives, why they respond so generously to opportunities for service and what enrichment they discover in their relationships with one another."

Copies of Sacred Stories have been distributed to mission leaders at all market-based organizations. Additional copies are available on a first come, first served basis. "These stories are honest, moving and a great pleasure to read," said Broccolo. "We hope that every reader who comes across a copy in a market-based organization waiting room or lounge will be inspired by them, and that our staff members will continue to contribute to future editions."
