U.S. News Ranks CHI Hospitals Among the Best in Their States


Several CHI hospitals rank among the best in their states, according to the annual Best Hospitals rankings from U.S. News and World Report. The recognized hospitals include:

Arkansas
#1: St. Vincent Infirmary, Little Rock

Iowa
#2: Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines

Kentucky
#5: Jewish Hospital, Louisville
#7: University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville
#8: Saint Joseph East, Lexington

Ohio
#10: Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati
#19: Good Samaritan Hospital and Health Center, Dayton

Texas
#4: St. Luke’s Hospital, Houston
#40 St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, The Woodlands

U.S. News bases its rankings mostly on objective data on hospital performance, such as patient survival rates, and structural resources, such as nurse staffing levels. Each hospital's reputation, as determined by a survey of physician specialists, is also a factor determining each hospital's rankings.
