Young Fundraiser Donates Art Supplies
When Cameron Steinblock was a patient in the pediatrics unit at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, Lincoln, NE, he created artwork for the nurses. When he returned home, he decided he wanted to help other sick children create art, too. He started with a letter to family and friends asking for donations to buy art supplies for the hospital. Soon, “Cameron’s Cause” became a full-fledged fundraising campaign, and he had collected more than $1,800.
Cameron returned to Saint Elizabeth in April to donate art supplies for other children to enjoy. The nurses in the pediatrics unit greeted him with hugs. They showed him a picture he created that still hangs in the nurses’ lounge, and presented him with a piece of art they made especially for him.
