Five Years of United Against Violence

More than 60 leaders from CHI's local organizations, participating congregations and community partners gathered to celebrate five years of United Against Violence, CHI's systemwide initiative to end the epidemic of violence in the U.S.

The CHI Mission and Ministry Fund Violence Prevention Workshop began with a video welcome from Kevin Lofton, president and chief executive officer of CHI. In the video, Lofton expresses his continuing support for the initiative and encourages CHI's local organizations and their community partners to expand their violence prevention efforts.

During the workshop, participants learned more about the “three keys to violence prevention,” evidence-based practices, funding strategies, effective communications and more.

The participants also shared lessons learned and best practices from their own community-based violence prevention programs. More information about the progress of local programs is available in a series of videos available on CHI's YouTube channel.

United Against Violence has been supported by more than $5 million in grants from CHI's Mission and Ministry Fund since 2009.
