CHI Hospitals High in “Best Hospitals” Metro Area Rankings


CHI hospitals rank among the top hospitals in their metropolitan areas and states in U.S. News & World Report’s regional “best hospitals” rankings for 2013. The new rankings recognize top-performing hospitals located in or near major metropolitan areas with populations of one million or more. To be ranked in its metro area, a hospital had to be in the top 25 percent of all hospitals in at least one of 16 medical specialties; or, be among the high-performing hospitals in at least four specialties. The CHI hospitals that ranked highest in their metro areas are:

  • Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, OH
  • Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY
  • St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, MD

CHI hospitals that ranked highly in their states include:

  • St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center, Little Rock, AR
  • Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, IA
  • Alegent Health-Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Omaha, NE
  • Alegent Health-Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs, IA
  • Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH
