New CHI Violence Prevention Resource Guide

To advance the CHI strategic goal of violence prevention, the CHI Violence Prevention Steering Committee has developed a Violence Prevention Resource Guide to assist MBOs and facilities in the development of community-based violence prevention initiatives. The guide, a culmination of five years’ work and testing in a learning lab environment with CHI facilities, congregations and partners, provides a process for identifying, developing and implementing a violence prevention initiative. This resource guides the user through a general framework for program development, allowing for planning that will ultimately be unique to and identified by each community. CHI’s commitment to violence prevention is rooted in our founding traditions and was formalized in 2008 with the United Against Violence systemwide campaign.
