CHI, O’Rourke Cited for Information Technology Best Practices

CHI was among a number of organizations across the U.S. cited by The Academy of Healthcare Technology as a best practice case study in the management of information technology.

In a new report titled “Best Practices in Healthcare IT Management,” the academy highlighted CHI’s effort to consolidate its IT framework to accommodate rapid growth across the system. The report noted that the restructuring has enabled CHI to realize significant efficiencies in project management, and that the organization now significantly outperforms the industry average for the completion of projects on time, on budget and on scope.

Michael O’Rourke, senior vice president and chief information officer, also outlined CHI’s journey to IT consolidation in an article in Information Technology Management, a journal of the national academy.
