CHS Forms New Home Care Partnership

American Nursing Care (ANC), part of Consolidated Health Services, Milford, OH, recently joined with Elkhart General Home Care, Elkhart, IN, to create a new home care company that extends the CHS service area into northern Indiana. The new partnership covers home health, home infusion therapy and durable medical equipment. CHI acquired Consolidated Health Services in 2010 as the basis for a national home care service line.

The new home care company will be owned equally by Elkhart General Healthcare System and ANC, with ANC as the managing partner. With the partnership, 130 associates were added to the ANC workforce.

The partnership is part of a larger trend of hospital-based home care agencies joining with organizations that specialize in home care. While the partnership will enable the two organizations to operate more efficiently, Daniel Dietz, president and CEO of ANC, points out that the changes will be virtually invisible to patients. “Patients from both organizations can expect the same high-quality care and services they’ve received in the past,” he said. “In most cases, they will continue to see the same dedicated caregivers they have come to rely on and trust.”
