Staff Ideas Transform Bedside Care at St. Francis

Federal Way, WA

St. Francis Hospital recently celebrated the halfway point of its three-year program, "Aligning Forces for Quality: Transforming Care at the Bedside." The program is part of a national initiative by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that engages nurses and other frontline staff to improve the quality and safety of patient care in hospitals across the U.S. Staff members at St. Francis have put more than 70 new ideas to the test and have achieved measurable improvement in patient satisfaction, safety and employee satisfaction. Ideas developed at St. Francis and other participating hospitals are shared as best practices through ongoing communication among participants and at national conferences.
