Demolition of Old Hospital Protects Environment
The environmentally safe demolition of the building that used to house Enumclaw Regional Hospital will send as much as 95 percent of the building's material to recycling centers. The hospital was replaced by St. Elizabeth Hospital, part of Franciscan Health System, Tacoma, WA. The demolition began Feb. 24 and is scheduled for completion by March 30. The site will be converted to a parking lot to serve patients, visitors and employees of St. Elizabeth. Materials expected to be recycled include asphalt, concrete, glass, light tube, copper wiring, steel and gypsum board. For more information, contact Gale Robinette.
