Implementation Schedule Set for OneCare

More than 120 local, regional and national leaders from across CHI met this month to approve an implementation schedule for OneCare, CHI's clinical information technology initiative. OneCare is CHI's largest initiative and investment to date. It will enhance patient care by creating a shared electronic health record for each CHI patient. It will also significantly change the way physicians, nurses, clinicians and staff do their work. When completely implemented, OneCare will include CHI's physician practice management, ambulatory electronic health record and hospital-based electronic health record systems.

The One Care implementation schedule spans the next five years. It was created by a team of clinical, IT and strategy staff members from across CHI and takes into account each market-based organization's existing IT infrastructure and specific needs. Ongoing communications will keep employees and staff throughout CHI aware of any new developments or schedule changes.
