St. Joseph’s Teen Athlete Conference to Focus on Sports Injuries
The Powered by ME! program of St. Joseph Medical Center will have a new central theme for its fifth annual Playing Safe, Fair & Sober Conference on April 28. Until now, the main message of the conference was education on the dangers of steroids and other performance-enhancing substances. The 2011 conference will focus on protecting youth from concussions and other sports injuries. The conference, which attracts more than 600 Baltimore-area high school athletes and coaches, will continue to offer sessions on the dangers of steroids and will introduce a new workshop on domestic violence among athletes.
