Jewish Hospital Continues Chanukah Tradition
Members of the Fox family participated in a 55-year-old family tradition by lighting Chanukah candles on the first night of the holiday at Jewish Hospital Medical Center East. The candles were lit in memory of Hilda Fox, who was head nurse at Jewish Hospital prior to her death from a cerebral hemorrhage on the fourth night of Chanukah in 1956. Hilda Fox had put up a menorah at the hospital each year for patients and visitors to enjoy. Since her death, her family members have maintained the tradition.
