National Leadership Conference Welcomes “Weavers of the Future”
CHI held its 2010 National Leadership Conference in Denver, CO, September 23 - 25. The conference was attended by more than 300 administrative and clinical leaders and board members from across CHI. CHI's leaders also welcomed special guests, including members of the sponsoring congregations, leaders of other health care systems, representatives of the Washington Theological Union and Rev. Monsignor Vicente Emilio B. Tugadi of the Philippines.
The conference theme, "Weavers of the Future: Continuing the Story of our Health Care Ministry," focused on raising awareness that each behavior, decision and action taken by CHI's leaders in the course of their daily work weaves something into the tapestry of CHI. The conference speakers offered insights and challenges on spiritual leadership, building healthy communities and generative governance. Attendees engaged in Legacy Dialogues, sharing prayer and reflection on four key cultural characteristics of CHI: hospitality, ministry, innovation and person-centered care.
Resource materials from the conference, along with a list of attendees, are being developed and will be available to CHI leaders via Inside CHI. For more information, contact Patrick Gaughan, vice president of CHI's Center for Formation and Organizational Effectiveness.
