Students Get Live View of Heart Surgery
Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare and the Greater Louisville Medical Society are collaborating with the Louisville Science Center to establish an educational program called Pulse of Surgery. The program will give middle and high school students who visit the science center the opportunity to view live heart surgeries and interact with surgical teams. The program is part of a project that seeks to boost interest in medical careers and promote healthy lifestyles among young people. The medical society and donors to the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Foundation have each pledged $100,000 to the program, scheduled to launch this winter.
