Saint Francis Hosts Project SEARCH Graduation

Grand Island, NE

Saint Francis Medical Center hosted a graduation celebration for nine high school students involved in Project SEARCH. The project is a partnership among business, education and vocational rehabilitation organizations that provides on-site internship experiences to high school students who have disabilities, with the goal of gaining employment. During the ceremony, the graduates received their diplomas from Grand Island Public Schools, as well as certificates of achievement from Saint Francis. Six of the graduates now have summer jobs, and Saint Francis hopes to hire three for permanent employment. Nine new participants will begin the program's second year in August.
