St. Clare Honors Slain Police Officers
Nearly 2,000 blue lights at St. Clare Hospital, Lakewood, WA, honor four Lakewood police officers who were murdered on November 29.
In memory of four Lakewood police officers who were murdered on November 29, St. Clare Hospital placed nearly 2,000 blue lights on exterior walls and an outdoor Christmas tree. “Many of our employees – especially the physicians, nurses, techs, health unit coordinators and registrars in our emergency department – knew these officers as friends and heroic colleagues,” said Kathy Bressler, president of St. Clare. The use of blue lights is a traditional way to honor fallen law enforcement officers and other peacekeepers. The Franciscan Foundation has established a fund to which Franciscan Health System employees may contribute in memory of the officers. All proceeds will be given to the officers’ families.
