MBOs Donate Supplies for Medical Mission to Haiti

Several CHI MBOs contributed to a supply drive for the Morehouse School of Medicine’s medical mission trip to Haiti this month. Contributors include St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton, OR; Saint Clare’s Health System, Denville, NJ; and St. Mary’s Community Hospital, Nebraska City, NE. Some MBOs sent their donations directly to Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. Others, including Mercy Medical Center, Nampa, ID, and Mercy Regional Medical Center, Durango, CO, sent donations to CHI’s Denver Meridian office, where members of the Mission Council inventoried and repacked a total of 24 boxes of supplies.

Members of the International Health Council, a student-led organization at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), Atlanta, GA, will assist at a mobile medical clinic based in Thomonde, located in the impoverished Central Plateau area of Haiti. This is the second year that MSM students will make the trip to Haiti. They will work with a team of physicians and nurses to treat hundreds of patients, many of whom may be seeing a doctor for the first time.

MSM’s mission trips are coordinated in partnership with Project Medishare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing resources with its Haitian partners to achieve quality health care for all.
