Jewish Hospital Introduces Portable CT
Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY, introduced the state’s first portable eight-slice CT scanner, which enables imaging to be performed at a patient’s bedside. The portable scanner will be used in the hospital’s intensive care units, saving time and minimizing the risk of transporting critically ill patients, such as stroke victims, to the radiology department. The new scanner is part of a significant donation from Jim and Dot Patterson that will also fund a new, eight-bed stroke step-down unit set to open in April.
