Saint Francis Medical Center is working with the Saint Francis Foundation and the Housing Development Corporation to help medical center employees become first-time homeowners. The three organizations received a $295,000 grant from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, the first award made to an employer-assisted home ownership project in the state. For eligible employees, Saint Francis Medical Center provides a minimum $3,500 down payment on a house in the form of an interest free-loan, which is forgiven upon the employee’s completion of a five-year work agreement with the hospital.
