Communication and marketing leaders from throughout Catholic Health Initiatives worked to landscape the area around a high school sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Family in New Orleans, La., during an advocacy day event. The event was held during Catholic Health Initiatives’ annual Educational Conference for Communication and Marketing Leaders, June 3–6 in New Orleans. The advocacy day volunteers moved and laid sod and planted trees. They also built an arbor and planted flowers around the high school’s statue of Mary. The Sisters of the Holy Family have lived and ministered in New Orleans for 165 years. The area that the volunteers landscaped was flooded in August 2005 during Hurricane Katrina, one of the most destructive hurricanes in U.S. history.
