CHA Recognizes Shandrow for Leadership in Pastoral Services
Rose Shandrow, director of spiritual care services for Franciscan Health System, Tacoma, Washington, was chosen to receive the Catholic Health Association's Midcareer Award for outstanding leadership in pastoral and spiritual care. The award will be presented during a ceremony at the 2008 Catholic Health Assembly, June 22-24 in San Diego. Shandrow has been director of Franciscan Spiritual Care Services since May 2002. She provides spiritual care leadership within the four-hospital system. CHA's Midcareer Award honors young leaders in Catholic health care who have already made significant contributions to the ministry and who, through their leadership, provide prophetic witness to the mission, values, and tradition of the health care ministry and the church. In addition to the Midcareer Award, Shandrow will receive $1,000 to be used for personal development or education.
