St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City, Kan., received a grant through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to provide free smoke detectors to eligible families. The hospital received 300 smoke detectors to distribute to low-income families and senior citizens. The Garden City Fire Department has agreed to install the smoke detectors. “Three hundred smoke detectors may not seem like enough, but if it saves one person’s life, it’s worth it,” said Scott Taylor, president and chief executive officer of St. Catherine. “Helping promote health and safety in the community is part of the hospital’s mission.” For more information, contact Janie Wimmer of St. Catherine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
