My Voice, My Vote Campaign Underway
As the primary season began for the 2008 presidential election, Catholic Health Initiatives once again launched its My Voice, My Vote campaign. My Voice, My Vote is a voluntary, system-wide campaign that encourages all members of the Catholic Health Initiatives family to register to vote, to become informed about candidates and issues, and to cast their votes. “A presidential election year is an important opportunity to influence the direction of our county,” said Kevin Lofton, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health Initiatives. “Not only will we elect a president this year, but one-third of the Senate, all of the House of Representatives and a majority of state legislators will be involved in elections. My Voice, My Vote is a non-partisan effort to increase participation in the political process as part of our commitment to advocacy. I believe it is an exciting and meaningful campaign.” Many of Catholic Health Initiatives’ market-based organizations have designated liaisons for the My Voice, My Vote campaign. Throughout the campaign season, Catholic Health Initiatives’ Advocacy Group will provide these liaisons with information and assistance. The liaisons have already received posters and table tent cards to help build awareness of the campaign and emphasize the importance of exercising the American right and responsibility to vote. Catholic Health Initiatives’ online Advocacy Action Center enables CHI employees to obtain voter registration forms for any state online. The Advocacy Action Center also provides information about candidates, voting requirements and election dates.
