Blue Cross and Blue Shield Recognizes Good Samaritan

Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Neb., received the Recognition for Quality Program award from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. The award acknowledges the hospital’s commitment to quality improvement. Specifically, Blue Cross and Blue Shield recognized Good Samaritan’s participation in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) 100,000 Lives Campaign as a fully committed hospital. Good Samaritan implemented all six of the IHI’s recommended evidence-based interventions, contributing to the prevention of 122,300 patient deaths nationwide during the campaign.
