St. Joseph Community Health, Albuquerque, N.M., announced that it will open a new Breast Cancer Resource Center in January 2008. The center will provide women with personalized help based on their needs. The center will provide non-medical services designed to connect women who have breast cancer with community resources. The center’s services will include an information clearinghouse that will use leading-edge technology to manage an extensive database of community resources, providers, treatment locations and more; advocacy and support provided by facilitators and staff who are trained to assess women’s needs and connect them with services; and a comfortable, soothing environment for drop-in or scheduled appointments.
