Alegent Health Mercy Hospital Celebrates 120 Years
Leaders from Catholic Health Initiatives and Alegent Health blessed a commemorative cross in celebration of the 120th anniversary of Alegent Health Mercy Hospital. Alegent Health Mercy Hospital celebrated its 120th anniversary during the week of September 24. The anniversary celebration included a leadership breakfast attended by Kevin Lofton, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health Initiatives, who helped to bless a commemorative cross. The hospital’s recent accomplishments include designation as a Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers; ranking first of 34 Iowa hospitals and health systems in the core measures initiative for heart failure, acute myocardial infarction and pneumonia; and achieving Magnet Hospital status for quality of nursing care.
