Mercy Receives Business Building Community Award
Mercy Medical Center, Roseburg, Ore., received the 2007 Business Building Community Award from the United Way and the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce. Mercy received the award in the large business category based on its extensive involvement in the community. Among other activities, Mercy’s community involvement includes an annual March Against Hunger drive that has raised almost $70,000 in the past six years to fight hunger in Douglas County. “The award represents the volunteerism, donations and community service that each of our employees provides to improve the quality of life for everyone in Douglas County,” said Kelly Morgan, president and chief executive officer of Mercy.
