Centura Health Announces Scholarship to Honor Nancy Hoffman, SC
Centura Health, Englewood, Colo., and the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center (UCDHSC) announced an endowed scholarship to honor the legacy of Nancy Hoffman, SC, who served as senior vice president of mission and ministry at Centura Health from 1996 to January 2007. The Sister Nancy Hoffman Scholarship is available to minority health care administration students accepted to the UCDHSC master of business administration program in health administration. The scholarship will be awarded to a student in the program who is a U.S. citizen of black, Native American, Alaskan Indian, Pacific Islander or Hispanic origin. “Unfortunately, minorities are under represented in the health care field, both on the clinical side and the business side,” said Greg Burfitt, president and chief executive officer of Centura Health. “The scholarship is an opportunity for us to make a real impact on communities in Colorado and across the nation, and to share our commitment to diversity efforts. We’re pleased to pay tribute to Sister Nancy and her extraordinary service to our patients, our mission and to the people of Centura Health through this scholarship.” For more information contact Carrie Kalmanowitz of Centura Health at firstname.lastname@example.org.
