Saint Joseph HealthCare, Lexington, Ky., is the first organization in the state to win a Kentucky Excellence Award from the Kentucky Center for Performance Excellence. The center sponsors the annual Kentucky Awards Program, which recognizes organizations for progress and achievement on the journey to performance excellence. The Kentucky Excellence Award is the program’s highest level of recognition, recognizing high-performance organizations with world-class processes that can serve as models for others. The Kentucky Awards Program is based on The Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, which is the basis for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award process.
