$1 Million Given to Allied Health Academy in Reading
The Allied Health Academy, an education/training facility created by Reading Area Community College, Centro Hispano Daniel Torres, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and St. Joseph Medical Center, received a $1 million contribution from the family of a former St. Joseph Nursing School graduate. The contribution from the family of Mae Langan will help furnish and equip the Academy, which will be named in her honor. Portions of the contribution will also be used for scholarships and future capital expansion. The Academy, conceived as part of St. Joseph’s Healthy Community Initiative, trains medical professionals for careers in health care.
