St. Joseph in Towson Sponsors Leadership Retreat
St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, Md., hosted a retreat May 17 that addressed the importance, direction and future of health care leadership. The half-day event focused on the results of a national survey of Catholic health care leaders on trends expected to affect Catholic health care from now until 2008. Esther Anderson, OSF, PhD, chair of the Board of Stewardship Trustees of Catholic Health Initiatives, provided a historic perspective of the Catholic health ministry. The group also discussed Catholic Health Initiatives’ advocacy efforts to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities, especially the poor and underserved. The retreat was attended by directors, board members and executive team members from St. Joseph in Towson, as well as representatives from St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading, Pennsylvania.
