Governance Task Force Convenes
To enhance communication between local and national governing boards across the system, Catholic Health Initiatives has established a Governance Task Force. The task force, which held its first meeting January 31, 2005, in Denver, Colo., includes market-based organization board chairs and chief executives drawn from a cross-section of the organization.
“The task force members will provide input on issues related to the Catholic Health Initiatives operating model and will seek new best practices to improve the relationship between our organization’s national and local needs,” said Kevin Lofton, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health Initiatives.
The new task force will build on the success of the former Catholic Health Initiatives Board Solution Team, which convened in August 1998.
“The Board Solution Team had many successes, including the development of several resource documents and the initiation of our current orientation program for market-based board members,” said Esther Anderson, OSF, PhD, chair of the Catholic Health Initiatives Board of Stewardship Trustees. “We’re eagerly looking forward to the insights and ideas that will come from the Governance Task Force.”
