"No one better articulates the inseparable link between the viability of the mission and ministry and operating and financial performance. We have been blessed to have her as part of our leadership team." Kevin E. Lofton, President and Chief Executive Officer

Geraldine Hoyler, CSC, has resigned from her position as senior vice president of finance and treasury for Catholic Health Initiatives. She has been elected a general councilor for the leadership team of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, South Bend, Ind.

"Geraldine has been a part of Catholic Health Initiatives since its inception and will leave a deep and abiding spirit of innovation and legacy of care," said Kevin E. Lofton, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health Initiatives.

Sister Geraldine was a member of the Steering Council that created Catholic Health Initiatives in 1996. She served on the Catholic Health Initiatives Board of Stewardship Trustees prior to being appointed senior vice president of finance and treasury. Before joining Catholic Health Initiatives, Sister Geraldine was president of Mercy Service Corporation, Denver, Colo.

"There is no question that her accomplishments at Catholic Health Initiatives and her contributions to the health ministry have made a tremendous difference in the lives of the people we serve," said Lofton. "No one better articulates the inseparable link between the viability of the mission and ministry and operating and financial performance. We have been blessed to have her as part of our leadership team."

Sister Geraldine will remain with Catholic Health Initiatives through the end of August 2004, and the organization will conduct a national search for her successor.

Colleen Blye, vice president of financial services for Catholic Health Initiatives, will serve as interim senior vice president of finance and treasury. Before joining Catholic Health Initiatives in 1998, Blye was chief financial officer at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading, Pa. She was also part of the finance leadership team of the former Franciscan Health System of Aston, Pa., one of the founding systems of Catholic Health Initiatives.
