Hundreds Attend Groundbreaking for St. Joseph in Reading

Nearly 500 people attended a groundbreaking ceremony to signify the start of construction on St. Joseph Medical Center’s new, $143 million health campus and hospital. Eight-foot white stakes placed on the 40-acre property marked the outline of the three-story, 210-bed, 350,000 square-foot hospital that will open in 2006. Several of St. Joseph’s leaders spoke and Edward Cullen, DD, bishop of the diocese of Allentown, offered a prayer of blessing.
