Dear Catholic Health Initiatives Family:

In the previous issue of Initiatives, I shared with you the vision we are creating for our organization. This vision is grounded in Catholic Health Initiatives’ potential to establish a model of health care that will move the American health system beyond "sick care" to "well care," or integrative health.

In this issue, I am pleased to introduce you to someone who will help make that vision a reality: Michael Rowan, our new executive vice president and chief operating officer. Michael will bring great experience and energy to Catholic Health Initiatives, and I hope that many of you will have the opportunity to meet him in person soon after he joins us on March 1.

As I settle into my role as chief executive officer and as we prepare to welcome Michael to the organization, Catholic Health Initiatives is also poised to embrace an updated strategic plan. Our Strategic Plan Steering Committee has begun the detailed process of analyzing the many pieces of information that will guide the updating of Catholic Health Initiatives’ strategic plan. As always, the strategic planning process will be as inclusive as possible, incorporating the knowledge and insight of staff, leaders and experts both inside and outside of Catholic Health Initiatives. You’ll read more about the evolving plan in this and future issues of Initiatives.

As the strategic planning process continues, I’d like to thank you for all your contributions to the attainment of Catholic Health Initiatives’ strategic goals.
