St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., has installed a new LightSpeed16 CT Scanner. The scanner uses electronic technology to scan wafer-thin sections of a patient’s head, chest, spine or abdomen and produce high-resolution, three-dimensional images. Physicians can perform detailed analysis by manipulating the images on a computer screen. The scanner also collects images in as little as one-half second, resulting in less exposure to radiation and greater comfort for patients.
