Mercy in Roseburg Receives Workforce Development Grants
Mercy Medical Center, Roseburg, Ore., has been awarded a three-year, $467,000 federal Nursing Workforce Diversity Grant to increase the number of nurses in its workforce. Together with community partners, Mercy also received a $1.5 million grant that will significantly expand the nursing program at Umpqua Community College. The expansion slated for fall 2003, will expand the program by 18 students each year. The college will also develop a simulated lab to support competency development and assessment.
